Neon Digital is an expanding digital agency and we are looking to recruit a full-time in-house PHP developer to join the existing team.

Based in the heart of Maldon, Essex, Neon Digital provides e-commerce driven web solutions to our clients. Projects are always interesting, challenging and varied – so a ‘can do’ attitude is a must for this role. Our fun team always strive to provide the best solutions, using the latest technology and design trends.

You should have a real desire to learn as well as bring along your previous development experience. PHP should be your main language of choice and you should have at least 3 years commercial experience.

We're looking for someone with the following experience/skills:

• PHP OOP/MVC
• PHP frameworks, e.g. Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, etc
• MySQL / SQL
• jQuery / JavaScript
• Scheduled (cron) jobs
• Git source control
• Automated deployments

You should hopefully also have some experience, or at least be aware of...

• Composer / Packagist
• Unit testing
• DDD (Domain-driven design)
• Redis, Elasticsearch databases
• Beanstalkd, IronMQ job queues
• Vagrant development machines
• PHP / web security
• SSH and basic server administration
• HTML5/CSS3
• Vue.js
• Experience working with XML/JSON/REST web services
